The story itself is quite disturbing IMO but has the usual zaniness of his other writings. Features quarks as "hypertoroidal vortex rings/loops of superstring", a "cumberquark", "hypertorii with fuzzy fractal surface" and what I think is an eversion of a torus using a fourth spatial dimension.

I think the above book would be easier to find than the volume you cite.
